| Valve is celebrating their milestone game that has just turned 10 with a special deal. Available on Steam right now is a brand spanking new copy of this classic game for 98 cents, when it normally costs $9.95. If you have never played this revolutionary game, it is the best time to purchase it to play as the infamous Gordon Freeman. It is also a good time to remember where the original Counter-Strike, Team Fortress, Day of Defeat and a lot of other games that were originally mods came from and still surviving today.
What is your best memory from this game?

Turkish prisoner uses video game idea to escape |
Tue, 18 Nov 2008 08:59:00 +1100 |

| Videogames always inspire people to do new things in their lives. Some positive and some of which are very negative. Some people actually make money from video game gimmicks like the shirt that says GTA made me do it. But playing a game, then committing a crime where you end up in jail and finally using an escape sequence from that certain game in real life is quite remarkable. The Turkish prisoner, who has his name withheld, has played some game in the Metal Gear Solid franchise in which Solid Snake evades detection by using a big box measuring 5 by 4 feet to escape his 7 year jail sentence. He effectively mailed himself out of the German prison and is now on the run, maybe using other in game tactics to stay under the radar and to avoid a 6 star rating like in GTA.
Have you heard anything similar where a trick in game works just as well in real life?

LittleBigPlanet copyright drama |
Tue, 11 Nov 2008 09:27:00 +1100 |
| Posted by Pits |
| The recently released game with a difference is having problems with user content being deleted by moderators for fear of infringing copyright. With some grey areas in some level creations, people are asking if its worth deleting these levels since they are not being sold, cannot be used elsewhere and if it is overboard, or preemptive action should be taken to prevent the games publisher to have futue legal issues. With such levels as Pacman, Batman and Scrubs that have been deleted, people are not even being warned or told why this action has been taken, all because a certain character has been added or a style resembles something else too much.
What is your stance on these issues and will it affect future games of this style?

Windows 7 due by end of 2009 |
Mon, 10 Nov 2008 09:59:00 +1100 |
| Posted by Pits |
| It took 5 years for Vista to be released after XP and after all the commotion with slow adoption, endless complaints and what not, it is rumored that Windows 7 will be here for one and all by Christmas 2009. With the operating system to be officially called Windows 7, it supposedly is breaking Microsoft’s own cycle for Windows products, maybe the general adoption of Vista has been a lot less desirable so they need to fix the issues up and try to force an upgrade to get their hard earned money in research and development back. With a beta believed to be appearing at this years Christmas holidays, the world can get a sneak peek of this new OS and see if it is worth upgrading or not still.
Do you think that this will be the killer OS that Microsoft thinks it will be?
